Career Fairs
Dear Contractors:
One of the State’s greatest strength is the partnership between MDOT and the contractors of Mississippi. Together we design, build, construct, and maintain the state’s highways.
Career Construction Fairs were designed to take that partnership to another level. A level where we seek to peak the interest of our high school kids in transportation related occupations. As you may know, we started with our first fair in the spring of 2002 hosted in Canton. Over the past seven years we have grown from one fair of about 400 students every other year to three fairs every year with over 3500 students total participating last year.
We want that momentum to continue and we need your continued support. Through your sponsorship, you play a valuable role in sharing with our youth the vast opportunities in construction from the field, to the lab, to the office.
Help us make this year the best one yet by volunteering manpower, showcasing equipment, and/or providing give-a-ways for the kids, etc. Reserving a spot to showcase equipment or a booth to share the opportunities your company has to offer is free of charge. Preliminary planning for this year’s event is already underway. Our committees are putting their heads together to ensure a memorable learning experience for our students.

Central (Canton, MS) – September 29, 2009
Northern (Batesville, MS) – October 13-14, 2009
Southern (Hattiesburg, MS) – October 20, 2009
